" We will always lose whenever we forget the strength of the community. The future of the country cannot remain in emotion alone; it must come from our hearts to settle in our heads as a collective strategy."
Whenever a tragedy strikes a brother or sister in the diaspora as well as in Haiti — whether it be a death, an illness, or a major disaster — we all see how Haitian solidarity tends to rise up as one man. In those moments, we have a great sensitive heart. However, as Dr. Nancy G. Supris pointed out during the NaEl's House Talk Show this past March on the NaEl’s House Connect platform, this emotional solidarity is not enough if it never becomes a sustainable structure and a strategic force for our community.
Our condition as Haitians all over the world is becoming more fragile and difficult every day. We cannot continue to respond with emotions alone while we forget to think as a collective force before we take each action or make each decision.
