Questioned about the causes of deteriorating food security across the country, Harmel Cazeau, General Coordinator of the National Food Security Council (CNSA), cited, among other factors, widespread violence, the decline in the population's purchasing power, and climate uncertainties, which negatively affect local production. Regarding the location of the 1.8 million people in food emergency phase, it was noted that they are recorded in displacement camps, Mr. Cazeau indicated. He specified that the municipalities of Port-au-Prince, Cité Soleil, Tabarre, and Croix-des-Bouquets account for nearly 25% of food emergency cases.
