The Hostellerie du Roi Christophe hosted, on Thursday, November 5, 2026, the inaugural cocktail for the first edition of the Diaspora Fair, in the presence of government officials, local leaders, and representatives of the Haitian community abroad. This meeting, organized at the initiative of the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad, Kathia Verdier, marked the official launch of this event aimed at strengthening economic, cultural, and institutional relations between Haiti and its diaspora.

Supported by the Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad, in collaboration with several public institutions and under the high patronage of the Primature, "this initiative reflects the desire to make the diaspora a more involved partner in the national development perspectives."
By choosing Cap-Haïtien to host this first edition, the organizers also intend to draw attention to the economic and tourist potential of the country's second city.

Beyond the ceremonial nature of the cocktail, the initiative aimed to foster exchanges between entrepreneurs, investors, professionals, and institutional actors, with the hope of leading to concrete collaborations.
