About two months after announcing the adoption of a revised budget, referred to as a “war budget,” which would allocate significant resources to the National Police and the army to combat criminal groups, the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT) is still struggling to finalize this document. During the Council of Ministers meeting on Wednesday, February 12, the budget was not even on the agenda, a CPT member told Le Nouvelliste.

“The CPT was supposed to have a draft of the revised budget by Thursday, February 13, but the Ministry of Finance experienced a slight delay because it is still waiting for documents from other ministries,” a presidential advisor reported to the newspaper. He emphasized that the CPT’s directives for the revised budget remain unchanged: “A war budget prioritizing the National Police and the army to combat insecurity.”
