At the initiative of the organization "Debout pour Haïti," on April 2, 2023, more than 200 members of the Haitian community in Montreal demonstrated in front of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's office. This initiative is part of a mobilization aimed at forcing Canada to make "serious" commitments regarding the criminal acts raging in the country.
The initiators are not satisfied with the announcements made by Canada and the steps taken to help Haiti out of the abyss. "Canada can do better and much more, because Haiti is at the crossroads of chaos, confusion, rape, and massacres. It is our humanity that is affected," stressed Pastor Wilner Cayo of the group "Debout pour Haïti," who returned on Monday, April 3, to discuss the mobilization.
