Haiti is experiencing the catastrophic consequences of the disastrous governance of its leaders who have been in power since the earthquake of January 2010. It is not that the country was better governed before, but the earthquake of 2010 provided an opportunity to start from scratch. The international community was at the country's side, and money was flowing in through international aid and the PetroCaribe program. However, the leaders of the various PHTK administrations lacked patriotism and political will to initiate the country's development.
Instead of working to improve the living conditions of the population, the PHTK regime, which did not disappear with the tragic end of President Jovenel Moïse, has plunged the country into the chaos in which it finds itself today. The country's place in national and international reports published in recent days is proof of this. This week, the country received two bad reports. First, the World Press Freedom Index from Reporters Without Borders (RSF), published on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, highlights the significant decline in the country's right to information. In this report, the country fell from 70th place in 2022 to 99th out of 180 countries this year, a drop of 29 places. Unbelievable!
