Canada announced in late March 2023 that it would be allocating $100 million in aid to the National Police of Haiti. This funding is expected to be disbursed within the year. According to members of a Canadian official delegation visiting Haiti on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, Canadians are currently working to identify the needs of their Haitian partners in order to provide integrated support in coordination with other partners such as the USA, France, and the UN.

"This mission, along with a previous one conducted two weeks ago, provided us with an opportunity to meet our partners in the security field. It is crucial to personally meet with the PNH leadership to ensure mutual understanding of how we will work together. We had excellent meetings, and I believe that we have achieved a mutual understanding of the immediate needs of the Haitian population. It is important for us to thoroughly understand their needs and work to fulfill them," said Tricia Geddes, Deputy Minister of Public Safety in Canada, in an exclusive interview with Le Nouvelliste on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.
