The International Monetary Fund (IMF) management approved the second and final review of the Staff-Monitored Program (SMP) on May 30, 2023, which began in June 2022, and commended the significant reforms carried out by Haitian authorities, as stated in a press release by the IMF on Thursday, June 15, 2023.

"Despite a more challenging domestic and external environment, the authorities have implemented significant policy reforms, anchored by the structural reform program, and have demonstrated strong commitment throughout the process," the IMF stated.
