The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic, Roberto Alvarez, declared on June 16, 2023 : The Dominican government confirms it has not engaged in any discussions, agreements, or granted authorization for the establishment of an office on our territory to coordinate support to the Haitian National Police.

The statement from the Dominican foreign minister follows Canada's announcement of the establishment of "a joint security coordination cell led by Canada" during a ministerial meeting on Haiti's security held on June 15, 2023.
