The International Network of Health Education Clubs for Active Prevention (CESPA) organized its annual forum at Quisqueya University on June 17, 2023, under the theme "Hypertension in Haiti: A Battle on Multiple Fronts."
This forum brought together several experts with the objective of exploring the concept of "active prevention" through a multidisciplinary approach. Ralph Kernizan, the chairman of CESPA-Haiti, emphasized the significance of the event, stating, "CESPA-Haiti aimed to contribute to advancing knowledge in the fight against hypertension, which has become endemic in Haiti. According to available data, 47% of the population in the greater Port-au-Prince area is affected by hypertension, making Haiti one of the countries with a high prevalence of this disease."
