It wasn't until Thursday, June 15th, that a team from the Ministry of Public Works, Transportation, and Communications was dispatched to assist the municipality of Léogâne in clearing the roads, as reported by Mayor Ernson Henry. Equipped with three trucks and a loader, the team departed approximately three days later. "It's not only the main road that has been covered with sediment; the rural sections are also isolated. After these three days, I personally visited the site and observed that the work is far from complete," he expressed his dissatisfaction. He further added, "The central government has not yet visited me to establish a work plan."
Mr. Henry, as a local authority, expressed that he only observed the presence of the Director General of the National Education Fund, Jean Ronald Joseph, accompanied by members of a citizens' commission who were procuring kits. Quoting a member of this commission, he reported that the director allocated an amount of 800,000 gourdes, which included 300,000 gourdes for the civil protection agency.
