The number of jobs in the textile sector is declining, dropping from 53,091 in November 2022 to 43,280 in May 2023, according to a table published in the April-June 2023 bulletin of the Association of Industries of Haiti (ADIH).

This decline can be attributed to the social and political unrest of recent years, as well as insecurity and a decrease in orders. The decrease in orders is a global issue. "We are actively advocating with buyers to prevent them from reducing their order volumes," said Georges B. Sassine, former president and current advisor on the board of ADIH, in an interview with Le Nouvelliste. Georges B. Sassine expressed concern about the situation at the industrial park of the Company for Industrial Development (CODEVI).
