The HR 5035 bill, amending special laws for Haiti as part of the Caribbean Basin Economic Recovery Act and the extension of the preferential program commonly known as Hope/Help, was introduced in the House of Representatives by Stacy Plaskett on Thursday, July 27, 2023, as learned by Le Nouvelliste on Friday. "Yesterday, July 27, 2023, the bill for the renewal of the HOPE/HELP Act was officially introduced by Representatives Sewell, Plaskett, and Blumenauer.

"ADIH takes pride in the progress made so far, in public-private partnership with the Center for Investment Facilitation (CFI), the Ministries of Economy and Finance (MEF) and Commerce and Industry (MCI), and the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH), as part of this campaign to safeguard jobs in the textile sector and attract new investments in the medium and long term," said Wilhelm Lemke, president of ADIH, who spoke about the efforts in favor of this renewal.
