"The reconstruction of Saint-Jean College is making progress, although not at the desired pace," revealed Father Jean-François Printemps. He continues to rely on the solidarity of the school's alumni to restore this educational institution. "Signals have been sent, promises have been upheld, and actions have been taken. Three classrooms have been reconstructed, not to mention the kindergarten section that was relocated through the support of alumni, missionary congregations, and a few friends, enabling the school to operate despite not all structures being functional. The children are attending, learning is underway, and we are achieving academic results," he affirmed.
The results for the unofficial classes are satisfactory, bringing joy to the religious leader. According to him, the overall success rate for the school is approximately 85%, excluding official exams. Despite these achievements, the school faces challenges in returning to its former state. Father Printemps expressed disappointment in unfulfilled promises, notably from the European commissioner who had committed to building shelters to facilitate ongoing educational activities, and from the UNICEF representative in Haiti, whose commitments have not materialized.
