For the past ten months, subsequent to a resolution unanimously adopted by the Council of Ministers, the Haitian government has been actively seeking robust assistance from the international community. The envisaged aid takes the form of deploying a multinational force to support the Haitian National Police – a goal cherished by the Henry administration.

Ten months have passed since the initial appeal. In that span, here has been the clear "No" from the Americans, the engagement-disengagement of the Canadians,, and most recently, the proposition from Kenya to assume leadership of the force. The clock is ticking, challenges are exacerbating, and potential solutions are slipping away.
