A small homage to the founding father of the nation. The government arranged a brief ceremony at the Museum of the Haitian National Pantheon (MUPANAH), followed by a floral offering in front of the emperor's bust. Pont-Rouge, a historical and fitting location for commemorating this date, has remained inaccessible to successive governments since 2019. This place is firmly under the control of armed gangs.
Prime Minister Ariel Henry, accompanied by the President of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ), Jean Joseph Lebrun, and members of his government, laid a wreath of flowers, sang a verse of the Dessalinienne, and that was all. Ariel Henry did not deliver a speech on this occasion.
