They are researchers, entrepreneurs, writers, university professors, doctors, among others, who put their skills at the service of the Quebec population and the Black community from which they hail. SOIT considers them as heroes, inspiring individuals who should serve as role models for future generations.

Among these inspiring individuals recognized by SOIT in Quebec is Rodney St-Éloi. "He had the brilliant idea to create a publishing house to publish the works of Haitian authors. Mémoire d'encrier was born. 'Mémoire' because it obsesses him and allows him to bounce back: being a descendant of slaves, he always cares about what preceded. 'Encrier' because he learned to write with a quill," it says in the presentation of Rodney St-Éloi.
