"On the government level, we have not yet submitted any names to the High Council of the Transition for the formation of the Electoral Council," a close associate of the Prime Minister revealed to Le Nouvelliste on Thursday night. According to him, the current administration is awaiting political negotiations regarding the expansion of the HCT before delving into the formation of the CEP. A member of the HCT also contacted by the newspaper confirmed that the HCT has not received a list of names from the government for the formation of the CEP.

"The government wants to give a chance to the political dialogue initiated by CARICOM. Envoys are in the country, and we hope to reach an agreement to proceed with the elections," stated a high-ranking government official close to Ariel Henry to Le Nouvelliste.
