The proposed framework for the transition project, submitted to political actors and civil society by the Caricom Eminent Persons Group two weeks ago, does not include the resignation of Prime Minister Ariel Henry in the negotiations. However, this is a demand from most opposition political parties. Even though they announce that they will meet with Caricom envoys arriving in the country on December 6, they reject all or part of the Caricom representatives' agreement proposal.

"The EDE political party welcomes the proposed transition framework project developed by the Caricom Eminent Persons Group. It applauds their efforts to accompany Haitian actors in seeking a consensual way out of the crisis. However, the party believes that there is still a long way to go on this democratic path towards the effective restoration of constitutional order," Claude Joseph responded in an interview with Le Nouvelliste.
