While specialized police units were tracking down the gang leader of Delmas 95, Ernst Julmé, also known as Ti Greg, gangsters launched simultaneous assaults in downtown and the lower part of Delmas. In Champ de Mars, several police officers were deployed to repel troublemaking bandits. At the bottom of Delmas, Le Nouvelliste learned that clashes erupted near the base of the Crowd Control Unit (CIMO) between police officers and bandits. The intense gunfire, which lasted for several hours, caused huge panic in the metropolitan area. Pedestrians and motorists ran in all directions trying to reach their homes. Barricades were erected in several areas, making traffic nearly impossible.

In the afternoon of Thursday, March 21, an operation by the Haitian National Police resulted in the death of Ti Greg, who had escaped from the national penitentiary during the bandit assault on the evening of March 2, 2024.
