After the announcement of Prime Minister Ariel Henry's resignation and that of his government on March 11, many hoped for the swift establishment of the Presidential Council. A month later, the Presidential Council is still not in place, the next government has not yet been appointed, and the outgoing government continues to handle current affairs.
The Presidential Council remains in limbo. While the Council of Ministers approved the draft decree establishing its creation and operation on Wednesday evening, as of Thursday evening, the document had still not been sent to the National Press for publication, as reported to Le Nouvelliste.
