Four political coalitions represented in the Presidential Transition Council (PTC) have formed a majority to choose a president and propose a single candidate for the position of prime minister. These are the EDE/RED/Compromis historique coalition, the December 21 Agreement, the January 30 Collective, and the Pitit Desalin party. Representatives of these structures within the PTC, along with the leaders of their parties, have signed an agreement to establish power on April 30.
"We, members of the Presidential Council and stakeholders of the April 3, 2024 Agreement, hereby constitute an indissoluble majority bloc (IMB). All decisions within the IMB are made by consensus, or failing that, by a majority of 3 out of 4, particularly those concerning: the election of the President of the Presidential Council, the appointment of the transitional prime minister, the formation of a government of national unity, the establishment of the Provisional Electoral Council, and ensuring the success of the transition mission," reads the document obtained by Le Nouvelliste.
