Equipment from the $70 million security aid package for Haiti is expected to arrive in Haiti soon. The Haitian National Police (PNH) is set to receive equipment, as well as the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM). The position of the Americans regarding the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAD'H) is said to have evolved. They are reportedly willing to provide assistance to the Haitian army. However, the exact nature of the equipment remains to be confirmed, emphasized a source close to the PNH to Le Nouvelliste.

"The PNH is expected to receive in May or early June 10 infantry armored vehicles from the USA out of a promised lot of 35. The remaining 25 have been ordered," our source indicated.
