Dr. Garry Conille, 58, was unanimously selected by the six presidential advisors present during the deliberation of the Transitional Presidential Council (TPC) on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, to become the next Prime Minister of Haiti. The representative of the private sector, Laurent St Cyr, was absent during the vote, as reported to Le Nouvelliste.
Conille, chosen by the TPC for his exceptional governance experience, returns to the Premiership 12 years after being narrowly approved by the Senate and endorsed by the House of Deputies in October 2011. Conille was the third Prime Minister designated by President Michel Joseph Martelly, following Gérard Daniel Rouzier and Bernard Gousse.
