The country now knows its next Minister of Economy and Finance: Ketleen Florestal, a specialist in economics and international affairs. Ms. Florestal brings with her a long career in international organizations such as the IMF and the World Bank. She also gained significant experience in public administration in Haiti. In addition to her role as Minister of Economy and Finance, Ketleen Florestal will manage the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation within the government led by Prime Minister Garry Conille under the Presidency of the Transitional Presidential Council.

For over 18 years, from 2004 to January 2009 and from September 2010 to the present, Ketleen Florestal has served as an advisor to the Directors for Haiti on the Boards of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and/or the World Bank Group (WB). Until her recent appointment to the Haitian government, she worked at these institutions primarily on policies targeting or affecting Latin American and Caribbean countries and countries in fragile, conflict, or violent situations, including debt issues.
