When the first contingent of 200 Kenyan police officers arrived in Haiti on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, many believed that additional contingents would follow swiftly. However, two weeks later, neither the Haitian nor Kenyan authorities can precisely say when the next troops will be sent as part of the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti.

Last week, Le Nouvelliste asked a member of the Presidential Council when the next contingent of Kenyan police officers was expected to arrive in Haiti. The presidential adviser responded, "The next contingent will arrive shortly." On Tuesday, a week later, the newspaper asked another presidential adviser the same question. "We don't have a specific date, but they will arrive," he replied.
