After her spectacular performance on Sunday night to close the 38th edition of the Festival International Nuits d'Afrique for Francophonie, the City of Montreal awarded Rutshelle Guillaume the Prix Nuits d'Afrique. The rising star becomes the first Haitian artist, across all categories, to receive this distinction.
A memorable, grandiose, and electrifying show. A jubilant crowd of Haitians and thousands of Quebecers and other foreign nationals chanted Rutshelle Guillaume's name. The singer delivered yet another high-level performance worthy of her reputation as the Diva of Compas. With each show and each performance, Rutshelle Guillaume reinvents herself to dazzle her audience. Already at the peak of her career, she sets no limits for herself. On stage, she takes risks to connect with her audience, and her songs are well-known and sung in unison.
