Le Nouvelliste interviewed the CEO of the Haitian airline Sunrise Airways, Philippe Bayard, to discuss the company's current status. Bayard provided an overview of the company's 12-year history, shared future prospects—especially those aimed at bringing Caribbean islands closer together—and addressed some criticisms.
The CEO expressed pride in Sunrise Airways' resilience, despite challenging circumstances. "We will celebrate our 12th anniversary this December. We continue to operate in a rather unique environment in terms of security, particularly regarding the general conditions at Port-au-Prince airport and throughout the country. We have been forced to adapt. Insecurity affects our flight schedules, requiring us to end operations earlier than we'd like. This has a financial impact on the company. However, all things considered, we're doing fairly well," Bayard stated.
