Despite government plans, many public schools are not yet ready to welcome students on October 1. Efforts to relocate displaced persons currently sheltering in school facilities have so far been unsuccessful. Several public schools, including Lycée Marie Jeanne and Lycée du Cent-cinquantenaire, are still occupied by refugees. In response, Minister of Education Augustin Antoine announced that alternative spaces will be provided by the Ministry to allow students to resume their studies.

This issue mirrors the challenges faced during the 2023-2024 school year when the Department of Education for the West fell into debt after renting private spaces to house displaced public schools. When questioned, Minister Antoine stated that most of these debts have been settled. "We still have payments left for two or three schools, but they will be made gradually," he said, explaining that delays in some contracts receiving approval from the Superior Court of Auditors have contributed to late payments.
