The Fanmi Lavalas Party, whose member Leslie Volaire serves as the president of the CPT, delivered a scathing indictment of the 8 months of the transition. In a statement published on December 12, 2024, the party noted that the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT) and the government continue to fail. “They have failed because insecurity has worsened. Massacres are multiplying. So are kidnappings, corruption, high costs of living, and misery, which are plunging the population into anxiety,” stated Fanmi Lavalas, criticizing the fact that, 8 months later, the April 3rd agreement has yet to be published in Le Moniteur.

“While 6 million Haitians live in food insecurity and 1 million are forced to flee their homes to take refuge in camps due to gang violence, the CPT and the government show no sensitivity nor any capability to address the urgent needs of the population,” lamented Fanmi Lavalas, citing the recent massacres of Wharf Jérémie and Petite-Rivière de l’Artibonite as examples.
