There is a serious issue of morality within the CPT with the presence of the three presidential advisers indicted in the BNC corruption scandal. The majority of sectors have already expressed their dissatisfaction with their representatives on the Presidential Transitional Council. Some have officially cut ties with the CPT members for months now. The virtual meeting with the Group of Eminent Personalities from CARICOM was simply an opportunity for them to demand their resignation.

While some sectors are calling for the collective resignation of all CPT members while maintaining the concept of the Presidential Council, others advocate for the resignation or removal of the three indicted members, namely Louis Gérald Gilles, Emmanuel Vertilaire, and Smith Augustin. A third, smaller group believes that the decision of the judiciary should be awaited before deciding to remove them or not, participants in the meeting reported to Le Nouvelliste.
