Jonasson Odigène, a journalist for Le Nouvelliste and Radio Magik 9, is the recipient of the top award in the second edition of an economic training program offered by the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) to journalists. The certificate ceremony took place on January 16, 2025, at the Karibe Hotel. Mr. Odigène stood out among 24 journalists from 10 media outlets in the capital who participated in the six-month program.

Jonasson Odigène highlighted the positive impact of the training. “At Le Nouvelliste, I often write articles about the economy. Before the training, it was common to simply repeat the words of the interviewee without delving into the details. Thanks to this program, I now have a better understanding of economic terms and can even conduct interviews on economic topics. The courses especially helped me grasp the functioning of mechanisms like exchange rates and remittances,” he noted.
