Fritz Alphonse Jean is in his first week as head of the Transitional Presidential Council. It is still too early to assess his leadership. "With Fritz Alphonse Jean, there will be continuity within the CPT, although, as an economist, he will bring his own personal touch to the Council’s operations. In the coming weeks, we will see the new dynamic within the CPT under the new coordinator," a CPT member told Le Nouvelliste.
This presidential advisor also acknowledged that there is "fear and concern" over how Fritz Alphonse Jean will direct the CPT. Without elaborating on the nature of these concerns, the source noted that Jean has visited officials at the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) and has a history of pointing fingers at private sector figures involved in wealth accumulation in the country.
