A cargo ship was attacked by criminals in the bay of Port-au-Prince. The incident occurred during the night of Tuesday, April 1, to Wednesday, April 2, 2025. Le Nouvelliste was able to confirm the information with a source close to the National Port Authority (APN).

“A ship was the victim of an act of piracy between midnight and 1 a.m. The vessel, which was heading to the Port of Port-au-Prince, had dropped anchor near Mariani. In trying to find safety, the crew members walked right into the lion’s den,” lamented the source.
