The former deputy of the Kenscoff district was apprehended by the police on the afternoon of Friday, April 4. According to a police source, the former parliamentarian was arrested in Morne Calvaire after being tracked by the police. “He was the subject of a wanted notice for his connections with criminal groups and was apprehended this Friday,” the police source told the newspaper.

The former parliamentarian had always denied being in communication with criminals. When he became the subject of a wanted notice issued by the Haitian National Police (PNH) last February, the former parliamentarian categorically rejected the allegations. “I am on my way to the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police. I am an upstanding citizen and have no ties to armed gangs. If, by denouncing criminals, the police try to portray me as their accomplice, let them know that I have been a fighter all my life,” he wrote.
