The neighborhood of Canapé-Vert paid a heartfelt tribute to members of the vigilance brigades who lost their lives in Pacot during clashes with criminal groups on April 23. A vigil and symbolic funerals were held in their honor on May 2 and 3.

Residents of Canapé-Vert, along with others from Turgeau, Pacot, Cannot, Debussy, and Carrefour-Feuilles, gathered at the Canapé-Vert square to attend the symbolic funerals. “Like the founders of the nation, the victims of Pacot fell as heroes. Their sacrifice will not be in vain. The battle is only beginning,” declared the officiant of the funeral, stirring the thousands of participants. “Let us stay connected to our brothers. They gave their lives so that the country would not perish,” he continued.
