During the interview granted to a pool of journalists on Friday, June 20, at the Villa d’Accueil, the President of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT) was questioned about the draft of the new constitution. This text was submitted to the executive on May 21, and the steering committee had given the public one month to provide feedback — a deadline that expires this Saturday.

As the draft has been the subject of much criticism, Fritz Alphonse Jean was asked about the CPT’s position on the matter. “This draft of the new constitution is not the concern of the Transitional Presidential Council. Personally, there are points in the document that I don’t even understand,” he stated bluntly.
