The transitional government held a Council of Ministers meeting on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the National Palace. The last time such a meeting had taken place there, Ariel Henry was still Prime Minister — unaware that he would resign a few weeks later. That was on January 12, 2024. Since then, the Champ de Mars and the surrounding public buildings that once housed state institutions had been abandoned to criminal groups.

This Thursday, the transitional authorities — the CPT–PM tandem — made their comeback at the National Palace. As early as 8:00 a.m., according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office and a video shared by the Presidency on social media, presidential advisers and cabinet members attended the flag-raising ceremony before taking part in the Council of Ministers meeting.
