In Osaka, Japan, the President of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), Laurent Saint-Cyr, granted an interview to Le Nouvelliste’s Editor-in-Chief, Frantz Duval, on Sunday, October 12, 2025. The CPT coordinator explained the reasons for and outcomes of his trip to Japan, which is hosting this year’s World Expo in Osaka.
The president explained that Haiti, at the highest level, had been invited to the Expo since its opening in April. “Because of the situation in Haiti at the time, I was unable to attend. In the context of the UN Security Council’s vote in favor of the Gang Suppression Force, I confirmed my participation, because I believe it is important to continue lobbying influential countries such as Japan to obtain support for this new force,” Mr. Saint-Cyr explained.
