The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Albert Ramdin, is expected to visit Haiti in the coming days. The information was confirmed to Le Nouvelliste by the president of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), Laurent Saint-Cyr, during an interview with the newspaper’s editor-in-chief, Frantz Duval, in Osaka, Japan. “I have a scheduled meeting with the OAS Secretary General. We have set an appointment. I am supposed to speak with him this week to prepare for his visit to Haiti,” said Laurent Saint-Cyr.

The CPT president mentioned the visit of the head of the hemispheric organization while being questioned by the newspaper about the status of the current security mission led by Kenya. Has the current MSS (Multinational Security Support Mission) already been transformed into the Gang Suppression Force, or must we still wait for its deployment? Such was Le Nouvelliste’s question.
