Jocelerme Privert, former interim President of the Republic, is not ruling out the possibility of running in the next presidential election. Speaking on Magik9 this Thursday, May 28, 2026, the former interim head of state made remarks that, while not constituting a formal announcement, sound like a clear political signal.
“If there is a need for me to run for president, I do not see why I would refuse,” he declared into the microphone of Roberson Alphonse. The former interim president, who served from February 14, 2016, to February 7, 2017, clearly stated that he would see no problem with once again assuming the nation’s highest office “to transform the country for the benefit of the present generation and generations to come.”
