During the Carnets de Livres en folie program on Radio Magik9 on May 27, 2026, Sterline Civil presented her first novel, Mémoire d’une femme enragée (Memoirs of an Angry Woman). The former Director General of the National Education Fund (FNE) offers a work shaped by reflections, personal experiences, and observations on the condition of women in Haitian society.
The author revealed that she devoted nearly five years to writing the book, a process rooted in her long-standing passion for literature. “I really love writing,” she said. According to her, the project emerged from observations about societal change and the transformations she has witnessed over recent years. But beyond this social reflection, it was above all her lived experiences, encounters, and observations of reality that gradually fueled her desire to write.
