The installation ceremony, held in a small gathering, took place at the CEP headquarters in Pétion-Ville on Friday, June 5, 2026.

The ceremony was held in the absence of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé. Representing the government were the Secretary General of the Prime Minister’s Office, Jacques Francis Mary Gratia; the Minister of Economy and Finance, Serge Gabriel Collin; and the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Patrick Pélissier. On the CEP side, only its president, Jacques Desrosiers, attended the ceremony. Although he did not deliver a speech, Mr. Desrosiers drew attention by hastily leaving the room during the event without taking the time to shake hands with the other officials present. His attitude reflected the disagreement surrounding the installation of a Director General at the CEP.
