On Tuesday, July 14, 2026, Minister of Justice and Public Security Patrick Pélissier signed a memorandum of understanding with the representative of the Gang Suppression Force (GSF), diplomat Jack Christofides.

The agreement establishes the procedures for handing over to the Haitian authorities individuals arrested, as well as weapons, ammunition, and equipment seized during operations conducted across the country. “This agreement covers the transfer not only of individuals arrested, but also of weapons, ammunition, and any other materials seized during operations carried out by the Gang Suppression Force throughout the national territory, particularly in departments affected by armed gangs,” the Ministry of Justice and Public Security said in a press release published on its Facebook page on Tuesday.
