To pay tribute to the woman who pioneered public-health education programs, we are republishing this interview in which Fanny retraces her life, career and family history. The interview and Fanny’s advice have not aged a bit. Monique Souvenir died on July 21, 2026, at the age of 85. She began her career as a communicator on radio in 1966 before moving to television, producing advertisements and acting in films. With her goes a slice of life and a chapter in the history of the media in Haiti.
