The Electoral Council has officially submitted the electoral calendar to the government. In a letter sent to the Prime Minister on July 23, a copy of which was obtained exclusively by Le Nouvelliste, the CEP informed the government that the first round of the presidential and legislative elections is scheduled for December 13, 2026, while the results of both rounds will be published on March 7, 2027.
In theory, the date marking the end of this phase of the transition led by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé is now known. According to the CEP electoral calendar submitted to the government, the newspaper notes that the country will have elected officials in all positions by March 12, 2027.
