Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé received, on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the National Palace, an inter-American and international delegation jointly led by the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Albert Ramdin, and the Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Carla Barnett. The meeting was held as part of a joint mission taking place from August 16 to 19 in Port-au-Prince.

According to a statement published by the Prime Minister’s Office, the visit reflects the international community’s determination to strengthen its support for the Haitian people and institutions in a context considered decisive for the country’s future. “It aims in particular to consolidate cooperation around the national priorities of security, the electoral process, humanitarian needs and the revival of development,” the statement emphasized.
