On the occasion of the visit of the Director and Commandant of the Inter-American Defense College (IADC), Major General Joseph Lestorti, on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé reaffirmed the government’s determination to strengthen the authority of the state and mobilize all available national and international levers to restore security in Haiti. The head of government also took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of the partnership with the IADC and the Organization of American States (OAS).

“This cooperation must contribute to strengthening the capacities of the PNH and the FAd’H, consolidating national institutions and progressively restoring the authority of the state throughout the national territory,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.
