Prince Étienne, a 5-year-old child who mainly moved on all fours and had difficulty standing, can now walk without assistance, a few months after undergoing surgery on January 9, 2026, at the OFATMA hospital in Cap-Haïtien.
The procedure involved a team of orthopedic trauma surgeons made up of Drs. Hubert Michel Pierre-Louis, Erick Bruno and Canold Andrevil. The anesthesia team notably included Annie Joseph and Christine Saint-Jean. Mrs. Thelusma, head nurse of the operating room, as well as other members of the medical and paramedical staff, also took part in his care.
