The government expressed its sympathy to the bereaved families and the victims of the latest attack carried out by criminal groups against the civilian population of the municipality on the night of Sunday, August 23, 2026. In a press release, the government said it stands alongside every Haitian who has been affected, in pain and in dignity.

According to the government, “all security forces have been placed on maximum alert. Reinforcements are being deployed. The orders are clear: protect, secure, intervene. The authority of the government will be restored, without weakness and without delay, throughout the territory of Kenscoff.”
